I have 2 misdemeanor charges (from 2000 2001) both for simple assult. They were stupid mistakes now my husband I want to foster children who need a family, but I’m sure that this will prevent us from doing so. I know that they do a homestudy a background check… I’m going to be honest with the caseworker let s/he know that they are on my record what they are from. Will they prevent me from being a foster parent?

The original charge and not the plea agreement that resulted.
Yes they will show up under you background check. Be ready to explain them and you should not have a problem remember we are all human and we do make mistakes.
