when an employer does a background check, what information do they use besides the info you provide?

if you leave off certain information such as a job that you worked at one time, but did not want to put that information on the job application. would it be possible for that employer to find out about it through the background check

    The background check generally wont show up your employment history although some credit reporting agencies do have your employment listed if they probably wont show up your places of employment history although some credit reporting agencies do find out they probably wont know just cause for termination.

    Yes, there is a database employment search that will list some but not all of the jobs any individual has had in the past.
